The website Der lange Atem (translated as The Staying Power of the Organ) was developed as part of an artistic project of the same name (see further details here: https://lucasnorer.com/news/der-lange-atem/). It serves as an archive, providing access to research results and materials on war memorial organs, otherwise known as ceremonial or heroes’ organs. This sound art research and documentation project focuses on these particular organs, which were built and used in the 1920s and during the Nazi era as sonorous memorials and commemorative monuments.
